I'm sick. It was the last day of Ramadan and I decided to treat myself a delicious dish of spicy sambal chicken. Yes, I was savouring the breast meat and dipping into the yummy chilli paste. For those of you who are not familiar with this dish, it is called Ayam Merah(Chicken in Red) Different parts of the chicken in rich lather of spiced chilli paste. Normally served with ketupats(rice cakes) and some other red meat dishes(rendang) & coconut based gravy(lemak lodeh). Since I am not a red meat eater, neither do I fancy the rendang and lemak lodeh,
I am contented with my Ayam Merah.
Oh well, not long after I had a hearty meal of the spiced chicken, I felt a slight itch in my throat. The next day(which is the eid itself), it started with a sore throat, now consists of congestion, cough loss of voice--it's annoying. The whole world seems distant and hazy and it's hard to think.

After months of holiday, I am finally settled with a job that I really like!
An Art Skool where I meet lotsa adorable people of 1 year old to 16 years old. And I love the fact that they attend the art classes, because they want to. Even tho the population of the students are dominated by foreign kids coming from different parts of the world, and just some bits of Singaporeans, I am still contented to share my passion with them. From as young as 18months, these little toddlers display their interest through the feeling of texture..arranging of elements etc. The 3-4 year olds are really really fun to play with. Their inquisitive character perks my day. They are practicaly interested to know and learn everything! and of cos, in the process of the artwork, they will tell you amazing fantasy stories which makes teaching and learning so intriguing! 5-7 year olds are beginning to learn proportions, unity, variety.. some Principles of Designs. I just taught Olivia, a lovely girl from England. She is only eight but her intellectual level and ability is amazing. The painting turned out pretty impressive and I am so glad, I could impart my knowledge to such intelligent girl.

A woman at a Gas nightclub (Mumbai) on Saturday night was taken by 5 men, who according to hospital and Police reports, gang-raped her before dumping her at Bandstand Mumbai. Unable to remember the events of the evening, tests later confirmed the repeat rapes along with traces of Rohypnol in her blood.

Rohypnol, a date rape drug is essentially a small sterilization pill.The drug is now being used by rapists at parties to rape and sterilize their victims. All they have to do is drop it into the girl's drink. The girl can't remember a thing the next morning, of all that had taken place the night before. Rohypnol, which dissolves in drinks easily, is such that the victim doesn't conceive from the rape and the rapist needn't worry about having a paternity test identifying him months later.The Drug's effects are NOT TEMPORARY - they are PERMANENT. Any female who takes it WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO CONCEIVE.

The weasels can get this drug from anyone who is in the vet school or any university. It's that easy and Rohypnol is about to break out big on campuses everywhere.Believe it or not, there are even sites on the Internet telling people how to use it. Please forward this to everyone you know, especially girls.

Girls, be careful when you're out and don't leave your drinks unattended. (Buy your own drinks, ensure bottles or cans received are unopened or sealed; don't even taste someone else's drink)

Tailoring my Weight Loss Plan

In my post of Nana's Favourite Things of 2008,

I mentioned about my aim to lose weight.

It is tough for a junkie fan like me.. I love my chips, ice cream, supper, burgers, candy, popcorn...
To date I have lost 10 kg, for a period of 3months. I did not sacrificed my cravings, but I had it in minimal portion. My food consumption are grains, granola bars, bee hoon, fish and some bits of chicken. It is a little easier for me as I don't eat red meat and no longer drink. Lots of plain water is a must, to aid in the detoxing process.

It is unfair.. a skinny person could eat what seemed like an enormous amount of junk food and never gain weight, while someone who ate what was touted to be a more healthful diet of grains and fruit could be overweight – Well, it’s all in the calories.

I was eating more healthfully than before, overall. I told myself, no one’s body wants to be unhealthy. My body craves to be strong and dependable. I really didn’t feel like I was depriving myself of that much. I ate almost as much food as before the diet, and I definitely ate as much as I truly needed to eat. While I would not, and do not now, eat a steady diet of frozen dinners and restaurant food, it helped my body to realize what amount of food is healthy for me. And the best part, I surround myself with only supportive people.

The trips to Orchard Road became more beneficial as I started to visit bookstores and started browsing and buying books on self-improvement and of course, weight loss. My favourite is Eat This Not That! by David Zinczenko. I do invest on great books which I chanced upon in the web such as Diet Solution.

The Wedding Planner's Reflection

Looking back to the moments when I was planning wedding events for friends.. I know I could not have done so well without research and reflections. I bought Wedding Planner Guide as a kickstart to motivate my initial stage of organizing events.

To me, planning an event like weddings and birthdays, are like an artwork. The contentment I achieved at the end of the day is what I would say, a personal accomplishment.. Just like an painting, which evoke a sense of awareness, excitement and what have you..
A well executed event also brings joy and creates beautiful memories to both the bride and groom..and the guests..

Who could have guessed I am using dry enamel strips! Totally loving it as I don’t have the mess of polish all over my cuticles.

This is a very good alternative to usual nail polish, especially for busy women, who don’t have enough time for visiting manicure salons, or for those, who don’t like the smell of traditional nail polish. I think, it’s a must to try it!

It is really quick and easy peasy!

As much as I would like to shed these extra pounds, I have to admit I hate to exercise! Running? Nah! Tho that could be the fastest way... Other than swimming and diving, and aerobics+kickboxing(during those AMORE Fitness Days), other forms of exercise are not in my dictionary..

Come to think about it, I love dancing and I took up hip hop, modern, err...how about club dance? :) Recently I watched a form of Latin Dance in Youtube. Boy, am I awed! I am so inspired! I am especially interested in Salsa- simply lurrrvvvee...the flirty moves! Now, I need a Dance partner.

I would say, my favourite things are associated with my resolutions. By the end of June, I hope to achieve wish list no.1 to 5.
And by the end of Dec, to achieve no. 6 to 10.

I find it such a toughie to narrow down the choices in order to pick my 10 favorite things of the year. Where possible, I will provide a link where you and I can purchase the product, should you be so inclined. My Sis's HomeMade Brownies

I've spent the past week with friends for a wild week of wedding planning, visiting friends and pubbing.The highlights?Braving the Victoria Secrets website and walking into Miss Sixty to find that cute pink blouse at 30% off.
Eating dinner while sitting across from Utt and not really noticing because the food was so awesome. Finding out that I still fit into my so called little black dress despite horrible holiday eating (whew...)That's all for now!
